Important features of overhead projectors

Automatic lamp changer
Quick automatic lamp change to the second lamp without any interruption of your lecture.

Light output
Ohps are daylight projectors which can be used without darkening the lecture room. In order to reach a good projection quality, a minimum light output on the screen is needed. The chart informs you about the recommended light output of the projector, measured in lumen.

Recommended light output

Picture height adjustment
Precise adjustment of the picture height via rotating knob.

Keystone correction
A special optical system compensates for a trapezium-shaped distortion up to a certain projection angle in upward projection.

Integrated power socket
Convenient connection of additional equipment.

Anti-theft device
Slot to attach a lock as an anti-theft device.

LED for lamp failure
Reminds you to exchange the second lamp when out of order.

Lamp life indicator (for metal halide lamps)
Reminds you that a lamp life of only another 50 hours is left.

Lumen
Light output of the projector. The higher the lumen figure, the larger the picture size can be. For a daylight projection you need about 1,800 lumen for a picture size of 1.5 x 1.5 m, and for a picture size of 2.5 x 2.5 m you need about 5,000 lumen.

Metal halide lamp
For a white neutral light. High light output for larger picture sizes or sunlit lecture rooms. Lamp life approx. 1,000 hours.

Longlife metal halide lamp
For a white neutral light. High light output and a lamp life of 3,000 hours.

Projection lamps
Low-priced halogen lamps are normally sufficient for lectures in rooms with up to 30 people. Metal halide lamps are recommended for a larger audience, or if the reproduction of true colours is of special importance. The higher costs for this
lamp type are compensated by the much higher lamp life. Ohps with metal halide lamps bring more contrast to the image and, due to the spot-like light source, an even better picture sharpness.

Foldable projection arm
For easy transport and storage.

Roll attachment
For the use of transparency rolls The pair of cases can be attached to many ohps.

Focal compensation
Eliminates the lack of sharpness in the upper and lower part of the picture in upward projection. A further correction is possible by tilting the screen.

Built-in shutter
You can easily cover up the lamp temporarily and thus shut out the light without having to switch off the projector. This prolongs the lamp life and avoids a re-start. All Famulus gamma ohps with metal halide lamp are equipped with this shutter.

Economy switch
Reduces the brightness by approx. 20 %, but prolongs the lamp life about four times.

Safety lens head
Avoids overheating of the lens as a result of incorrect mirror position (patent pending).

Vario-focal lens
The sharpness of the picture is easily adjusted by changing the focal length with the pin on the lens and not by altering the height of the projection arm or adjusting the lamp house. There are no more annoying blue and yellow colour fringes.

Lockable projector body
A safety lock prevents unauthorized persons from opening the top of the projector body and tampering with the technical components.
